Biografía
Mayra Gonzáles is a trailblazing first-generation Mexican-American, community organizer, and urban planner. A graduate of the University of Colorado Denver’s Masters of Urban and Regional Planning program, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as the Director of Community Development at the Montbello Organizing Committee (MOC), a leading nonprofit community development corporation. At MOC, Gonzáles leads innovative mobility, transit, and housing projects that center community empowerment, equitable community development, and social justice. With a dedication to working closely with communities at the grassroots level, Gonzáles has made it her mission to build the capacity of resident leaders and support the creation of community-led solutions to systemic issues. Her unwavering commitment to social justice was recently honored with the completion of the National Association of Latino Community Asset Builders Pete Garcia National Fellowship.
