Claudia Kouakou-Mascarenas

Claudia has spent her life in the Denver area. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Metropolitan State University and received her master’s in mental health counseling from CU Denver. She also has previous experience working in Early Childhood Education and within Denver Public Schools. Claudia’s overall therapeutic lens aims to be multicultural and trauma informed. Her approaches to therapy include Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative and Strength Based therapies. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, at-risk youth, life transitions, and race-based stresses. She is also currently being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy. Claudia’s goal is to provide clients with the tools for them to feel the most "at home" and safe within themselves and return the power they have to create their environment.
