Biography

Franklin Cruz is a queer latin dancer, poet and environmental advocate born in Idaho, raised Texan and polished in Denver. Born from an immigrant family his work has placed him in science museums, as an emcee for dance & poetry competitions, conferences and agricultural spaces. A Tedx Mile High performer he’s taught and worked throughout the southwest, Peru, Puerto Rico for universities and environmental leadership camps with poetry in the Florissant Fossil Creek Bed, Denver Art Museum and Denver Botanic Gardens. Franklin has worked with communities like Bronzeville Black and Brown Growers Collective, Hampden Farms, Frontline Farming, Denver Urban Gardens and more creating programming, events and policies. Franklin brings a background of nutrition, food access, equity, diversity, inclusion and justice practices alongside artistic practices. Joining Montbello Organizing Committee he aims to connect communities more to natural spaces in the neighborhood, access to healthy food and home gardens.
